Women of the Bible – Day 22: Anna

There’s a difference between knowing about God and experiencing Him for yourself.

I’ve believed in God for a long time. My faith isn’t new. But something about my relationship with Him has changed.

I’ve experienced Him in ways that made my faith feel more personal than it ever has before.

I’ve watched Him show up when I needed Him.

I’ve watched things happen that I knew I couldn’t take credit for.

I’ve experienced a peace that changed something in me.

And somewhere along the way, I stopped wanting to keep my faith so quiet.

That’s what makes me think about Anna.

After spending years seeking God, the moment she encountered Jesus, she started telling people about Him.

She had something worth telling.

And lately, I understand that feeling more than I ever have.

It’s part of why I started She’s Wild & Worthy.

I’m not sharing because I think I have all the answers.

I’m sharing because I’ve seen God move in my own life.

I’ve seen His provision.

I’ve felt His peace.

I’ve experienced what happens when I finally surrender things I spent way too long trying to control myself.

And when you’ve experienced God personally, eventually your faith becomes more than something you quietly believe.

It becomes part of your story.

Maybe someone else needs to hear about the God who met me.

Maybe someone needs to know that you don’t have to have your entire life together before you start seeking Him.

Maybe someone who feels far from God needs to see that He can completely change the direction of a life.

Anna reminds me that testimony doesn’t have to be complicated.

Sometimes it’s simply:

I encountered Jesus.

He changed something in me.

And now I can’t keep quiet about Him.
