There was a time when I thought God using me would look a certain way.
Like I needed to be more prepared. Know more. Have more figured out. Maybe even become a different version of myself first.
But Lydia’s story reminds me that God can use what’s already there.
She was already a businesswoman. She already had a home. She already had resources and influence. Then God opened her heart, and instead of trying to become someone else, she gave Him access to what she already had.
That feels personal to me.
Because lately I’ve realized that so much of what God is doing in my life isn’t about turning me into someone completely different.
He’s showing me how He can use the woman I already am.
My work.
My leadership.
My home.
My experiences.
My words.
Even the parts of my story I once thought could only be something I survived.
I used to think I needed to have everything figured out before I could really do something meaningful for God. But I started She’s Wild & Worthy while I was still figuring things out myself.
I didn’t suddenly become a Bible scholar.
I didn’t suddenly have every answer.
I just felt God pulling on my heart, and I finally said yes.
And maybe that’s why Lydia’s story feels so simple and beautiful to me.
God opened her heart.
Then she opened what she had.
That’s it.
She didn’t wait until she felt qualified.
She made room.
I think I’m learning to do the same.
To stop asking, What am I missing?
And start asking:
God, what have You already put in my hands?
Maybe the things I’ve considered ordinary aren’t ordinary at all when I give them back to Him.
Maybe my story can encourage someone.
Maybe my words can reach someone.
Maybe my work can serve someone.
Maybe the life I already have can become part of what God is building.
I don’t need to become somebody else.
I just need to keep my heart open and be willing to say:
God, whatever You’ve already given me, You can use it.
